Amazing....and that doesn't even come close to describing it. Last night, we went to the last show of the Glory in the Highest Tour. I am sure I've said this a thousand times before, but I am SO THANKFUL that God uses music in the way He does to minister to my heart. I'm not sure where I've been, but I didn't know Christy Nockels would be on stage when we got there...Funny how God works. One of her songs has been playing in my car, head, and heart all week. Her voice was even more beautiful than I imagined. Oh, and FYI, no matter how loud you may have rocked out to Chris Tomlin in your car, nothing compares to him in person. He is so full of energy and JOY. You know how some people are just so full of the Holy Spirit it just rolls off of them? It blessed my heart to watch him lead us in worship.
Louie Giglio. I have never heard the Christmas story like he brought it last night. He reminded us that there was nothing "perfect" about the night our Savior was born. It was tax day (yuck), the weather was bad, Mary and Joseph were in a manger (most likely a cave), and living under a cloud of scandal....and God came down into the middle of that "mess" to be with us, to show us that He identified with us, that he feels our pain and struggles. Did you know the Shepherds were raising sheep to be used for sacrifice in the Temple, and that they were considered unclean and unworthy to enter that temple? They raised these sheep worthy of sacrifice to God, but couldn't go to church!? God chose them, a "lower class" to receive the message of our Lords arrival. God knows we can't make it to Him on our own, so He comes to us, right into the middle of our "mess", no matter what it may be, no matter who we are.
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests"
